    Gynecologist / OBGYN

My 2 cents is that it's always good to know your doctor well and if it is a practice with many doctors, to get to know all of them well. So, I would suggest looking for a single high risk OB or a practice with a high risk OB, and check them out. My first pregnancy was low risk, and yet in a...

    I had the baby!!!!

Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your family--that everything went well with the delivery, you have a healthy mellow boy and, like you said, you can bump up the meds and self care now. You'll be able to tell your kids they share a quarter birthday...sorta :-)

    Sterilizing nebs

Joni, that's quite a system. I should get some more nebs and replacement tubing. Thanks for the details. Amy, in my dishwasher, water comes from underneath. There is a spinning sprayer on the bottom and a second one positioned just below the upper shelf. Because the water comes from...

can anyone recommend a good vaccuum

I have a Miele (Callisto, I think). It's 5 yrs old and works perfectly still, never a glitch. It has an airtight canister and bag with a seal-thing. Nothing escapes back into the air. It cost an arm and a leg ($800) and I wasn't sure when I bought it if I was crazy or not, but give how long...

    Sterilizing nebs

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate hearing about people's methods and product preferences, and I'm glad no one can see a difference in those two electric sterilizers that would warrant spending up for the $250 one. At this point, I'm trying to keep as much as possible in my bathroom...

    Sterilizing nebs

I'm trying to get with the program in terms sterilizing nebs--following more of a CF protocol rather than an asthma/COPD one. Yrs ago, I had neb'ed hts and albuterol while culturing non-CF stuff. Then I stopped nebs for a couple years due to the magic of exercise. Now I'm needing to neb again...

    Constant hunger, bloating...help!

This is a long shot, but I can't process sorbitol. Maybe you have something similar or a fructose intolerance--oops sorry, not intolerance--malabsorbtion. Intolerance is another ball of wax. In small amounts (a piece of gum, a few breath mints, minute amounts of swallowed mouthwash and...

    Hearing loss

(((HUGS))) I'm sorry you're daughter might have hearing loss, but as many have said, it is great that you may have caught it early. You also sound like a really positive and proactive person and those are wonderful traits for your daughter to have in a mommy :-) My husband's best friend...

    Mold inspection

Jenn, I'm sorry you got surprised by the mold in that rental. Thank goodness you we able to get out...though after four hospitalizations :-( Congrats on your basement-free dry place now. You're welcome, Joni!

    Running Fevers

You should mention this to your doctor, and possibly treat empirically or get a bronchoscopy. You may not be coughing up the right gunk and the bronch could reach it. Or you may have bacteria that doesn't survive the petri dish. I had a long period with normal cultures and yet I responded...
