For me, it depends on how sick I am when i start on IVs. If i am just sick enough for a tuneup then i feel awesome after a week or two on them. If i am alot sicker than normal then it usually takes the whole 3 weeks to feel better. Either way, by the end I have alot more energy, cough alot less...

I didn't even know inhaled vancomycin was available. It definitely works miracles through an iv but i would be scared to take it very regularly because of resistance also. Scandi-Shakes are definately the best option out there. I think the carnation instant breakfast and boost were all nasty. I always get the vanilla ones and put them in milkshakes and smoothies yumm

The numbing cream is probably part of your problem. It can cause the veins to constrict which overall makes everything more difficult. If she is able to withstand it i would try to avoid the numbing cream because its easier in the long run.
