AquADEK reaction?

Dana,
I knew I read about the Adek and the flush on here somewhere but didn't take the time to look for it. LOL And today when the doctor told me about the reaction that some were getting from the Aquadek i thought I need to go back and read the forums to find all this out.

He told me he just wanted Austin to finish what he has in the ADEK and then double up on the flinstone or whatever multivitamin i give him until he gets more info about what vitamin they decide to put him on.

But thanks for posting in my blog and reminding me of where I read about this.

I know this is a few weeks old, but I just had to add that my son had the same reaction to the new aquADEKS. Our regular chewable ADEKs was on backorder, so we got the aquadeks and he was sick for 24hrs. Started with turning a deep red and led to vomiting. Our CF clinic had some extra ADEKs samples and we used that until his order came in. They said there were other kids having the same reaction. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I was disappointed because the rest of the aquadeks (minus the niacin) seems great.

I know this is like..a couple months old, but It's important. I felt a reaction also..it scared us so much!! One morning, I was eating my cereal..and I had this stomach pain...then I went the the mirror and I was a tomato! So we rushed to the ER..this whole time I have NOT been eating well because I thought I was allergic to my cereal!

Glad everyone is okay now!!

DS didn't have any reactions to it; however, I noticed we're unable to get it locally lately and the softgels have been on back order at the mfg. site, too. Apparently they're reformulating it due to issues with the niacin flush issues.
