Aquagenic Wrinkling of the Palms

When Emily needs Bandaids on her fingers we see this in an especially bad way, since moisture gets trapped in the Bandaids so easily and can keep her fingers damp for extended times, even with frequent changing... like mentioned above once they come off her fingers will be white, wrinkly and peely for days sometimes after the Bandaid comes off! Does anyone else ever see this?

(FWIW, I don't have cf myself (am a carrier)& have this problem as well when I soak in the tub, swim or have my hands in dishwater too long and my feet especially will be white and will peel for a little while when I am done. It is NOT to the point of being painful though. 'You look like a prune' was the line my mom would use for getting me out of the tub when I was little. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> )

Seems I finally have an answer to what has been happening to my palms for approx 8 years. I remember showing my palms to my CF doctors several years ago and they had no clue. I get small raised white patches after showering - but only sometimes. In fact, I haven't had any for a few years and they only started reappearing again about a week ago. Seems to occur more in winter for me but I wouldn't say it was associated w/ being sick. Very interesting!

I'm a non-cfer myself, but I have this!!! I never knew what it was called and I've never found anyone else that it happens to.When I take a bath little white bubbly spots pop up on my hands and feet and if I pull on the spots big areas of skin peel off. I used to enjoy peeling them when I was little (sort of like peeling Elmer's Glue off your hands). I've peeled my fingers so much that I doubt if I have any fingerprints left on them.I just tried the three minute water test mentioned in Amy's article and my hands get wrinkly, but I don't think they are excessively wrinkly. Wonder if just being a carrier causes this?
