When Emily needs Bandaids on her fingers we see this in an especially bad way, since moisture gets trapped in the Bandaids so easily and can keep her fingers damp for extended times, even with frequent changing... like mentioned above once they come off her fingers will be white, wrinkly and peely for days sometimes after the Bandaid comes off! Does anyone else ever see this?

</end quote></div>

The same thing happens to me if I wear band aids on my fingers.

As for the reason why the pruning happens more severely to us than others, I'm guessing it has to be with the sodium transport issue in our genes.

Proper hydration may help, as does moisturizing (but allowing moisturizer to dry)! Otherwise, I have no clue why!

I ALWAYS get this when I am more dehydrated.... In fact, that is my "reminder" to drink more fluids. Try drinking 3 liters of water a day for a few days and see if it helps<img src="">

I meant to say that I second the info about sea salt! I find that is helpful, too!</end quote></div>

That is what my CF center has told me in the past- that the more dehydrated your body is....the worse it will become.

I just don't get it!!! I am a chronic water drinker. Drinking water is my hobby. I drink around 12-15 8oz glasses per day, as a rule. But yet my mouth is ALWAYS dry, and the whole pruney peely hands thing of course. Is it possible I'm still not hydrated, or just losing too much salt. Should I add salt or water? I just don't understand!!!
