Artificial Birth Contol and IVF
Look, the fact is these artificial BC methods can cause chemical abortions unknowingly. They state as much in their own literature. Just because a chemical abortion does not always happen does not lend credence to it's use. You can play Russian roulette and not be shot in the head but eventually it you play long enough, it will happen. Life occurs at conception and one of the ways these BC methods work is by shrinking the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation of an already fertilized egg (i.e. a human life.)this is a chemical abortion. Lets not forget to mention the numerous side effects (sometimes fatal) these BC methods can cause. Life begins at conception, there is no debate about that:
Some quotes by famous scientists on the subject:
Internationally known geneticists and biologists have testified that human life begins at conception. In 1981 (April 23-24) a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee held hearings on the question: When does human life begin? The following doctors testified:
Dr. Hymie Gordon, Chairman of the Department of Genetics at the Mayo Clinic, said: "By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception."
Dr. McCarthy de Mere, a medical doctor and law professor at the University of Tennessee, testified: "The exact moment of the beginning of person-hood and of the human body is at the moment of conception."
Dr. Jerome Lejeune, The Father of Modern Genetics, testified that, "Each of us has a very precise starting moment which is the time at which the whole necessary and sufficient genetic information is gathered inside one cell, the fertilized egg, and this is the moment of fertilization. There is not the slightest doubt about that and we know that this information is written on a kind of ribbon we call the DNA."
The late Dr. Lejeune of Paris, France, discovered the genetic cause of Down Syndrome. He received the Kennedy Prize for this discovery, as well as the Memorial Allen Award Medal, the world's highest award for work in the field of Genetics.
Professor Micheline Matthews-Roth, Harvard University Medical School, said: "It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception"
As for IVF, I still fully stand by this statement:
It substitutes an act of laboratory manipulation for an act of bodily union between spouses. It turns procreation into production. IVF is really the flip-side of contraception: rather than trying to have sex without babies, we try to have babies without sex. Because many Americans have come to view sex largely in terms of recreation, ignoring its procreative orientation, they have lost touch with the grave violations that occur both in contraceptive sex and in making babies in test tubes.
With so many children needing homes it's a shame we don't see more topics encouraging adoption on here.
As for me being "offensive" I find that completely off base, I admit posting in three different places was wrong and I should not have done that, but I have seen topics in this forum that ranged from "if you knew your child was going to have CF would you abort" and "I'm pregnant for the third time but have to abort yet again because I found out the child has CF" and yet I hear voices of compassion and support for this evil. As offensive as I found these topics to be I never once ran to the moderator demanding they be taken down.
The next time I post on the subject, I'll just put links to various sources, from there you can either read them or not, the links will be connected to sources in which you can contact them and ask them all the questions you want.
As for the attacks on my faith, I fully expected that and I can take it, the Church has been attacked for over 2000 years and yet it still stands. I'm glad it fights against the moral relativism of our age and does not change just to fit in with the "times" I'm grateful to all those priests that have helped me through rough times and I am thankful for all their prayers and support.
Just remember that God loves each one of us more than you can imagine.
