aztreonam IV

I'm usually on iv antibiotics for 4 weeks, so going inpatient for Aztreonam for 4 weeks is not something I am willing to do. I usually start iv's at home and contine for the 4 weeks at home or go inpatient for the first 3 days and then finish at home. I would go insane if I had to be in the hospital for 4 weeks!

As for the asli, I was told that the fev1 has to be 50% or under to qualify the use of asli with the e-flow. My fev1 is 73%, so I guess I have to wait for the manufacturer to make more, if they ever decide to.

Take care,
Michelle

hey, Michelle!

yeah, that's how i feel too... i'm usually on at least 3 weeks, but lately has been 6, so i also am not willing to be in infection-riddled hospital unless that is my last resort. it still sickens me though that this has been backordered since like november for home health. seems we can do so many wonderful things with medicine, why can't we take some of the "reserve" the hospitals seem to have and put them on ice in our home freezers and thaw and drip IV just like they'd do?!?!
