bacteria in showerheads...new study

so what can we do to protect ourselves a bit since we should assume every hot water system is infected.......
Im worried we got a new hot water system and than i got sick....with the flu like symptoms...

I would keep the temp high on your hot water heater and run the fan in your bathroom when you take a shower. Never go in hot tubs. Aside from that, I am not sure there is much you can do. The "funny" thing about MAC is that for non-CF'ers, it tends to (not always) get post menopausal skinny white women. And even for people with CF, it is not one of the early bacteria people get. What role female and "older" hormones play in this is not known.

I was JUST about to post this... The only thing I can really do is bleach the outside of my shower head b/c of the way the base CAULKS the heads to the spicket.....seems like everything now a days is dangerous...

so my morning facewash with hot water to clean my face and wake up is a no no...
maybe have just warm showers.....to avoid steam with full vetulatio window open and fan like you said......i dont think i could bare having a cold shower....this sucks i have always loved a good hot shower....

So is the major concern the aero-soling of the hot water....what about simple skin contact.....
