I have a Pulmo-Aide 5650D that is about 15 years old, it still works well.
It is a Diagram type compressor . I have 2 of these in the house,But they are
kind of big.

I just bought a Pro-Neb II about 3 months ago, it is a Piston type.
It is already getting sluggish ,it starts out slow and builds up pressure.
It was not like that when new. Good thing is when I bought it I reveived
2 Pari LC Nebs with tubing with it. The total was almost as much as I
would have paid for 2 Pari LC Nebs.

i know its been talked alot before about the eflow an controversy-certain docs not recommending it, ect.
the last i looked into it, was over a year ago.
has there been any more info released on it, or certain docs changing their stand?
my doc as of a year ago did not recommend it.
i'm so interested in looking into it.

as far as standard non-portable nebs, i just got an inspiration elite and i love it. i am noticing faster neb times.

i don't have a great need for portable nebs as of now-if i did i'd def pursue a eflow

there probably won't be anything new - ever.

who is going to do studies? generic drug manufacturers? studies costs hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions. they're not going to do that.

the CFF? no way - they're too smart to do that. they'll invest that money into drug development.

studies have already been done, with no need for other studies, more than likely.

i hope i'm wrong - because i know many CFer's have been denied this great opportunity.

but the studies exist - they're there. medical devices aren't required by the FDA to go back and test every single drug on the market to see if the meds work in their devices. so eFlow won't be doing that most likely.

i saw just a CFF promotional video and some patient was using the eFlow <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

the only other thing i can think of is everyone will have an eFlow for aztreonam when it comes out in 2-3 years. so patients will use it anyway with drugs they use in traditional compressors.

it's too bad your doc isn't into it.

but the eFlow was FDA approved in 2004. it's been on the market here in the US 5 years....

Europe for a bit longer, i think.
