The "phalange" is the blue piece. That's what they call it at Foundation Care as we kept needing that piece replaced...
They weren't very friendly about replacing it either, which was very irritating to me as that little plastic piece doesn't cost much at all, i'm sure.

I'm definitely looking into the counter top dishwasher. That's great.
Right now we use a microwave steam bag - I think they are by Medela, our RT at Stanford had recommended them. a couple of years ago and they have been great for the PARI equipment, but Foundation Care told us not to use them for their plastic pieces on the e-flow.

foundation care never told me that about the blue piece. it seems like it's made of the same blue material on the mouth piece.

i throw mine in the dishwasher as well and it's held up just fine.
