CF Conference in Denver

There were about 3,000 people at the conference - very heartwarming for me. A number of patients from the National Jewish (Denver) Adult Clinic were there, including me. Next year is Oct 3-7, Anaheim, CA.

Yes, our CF doctor went, and I agree, I would expect him to be there short of a family emergency!

And he will be speaking at a Family Support group meeting at the end of this month to share with us some of the information that he recieved while there

Lauren,
I am afraid that I cannot attend the meeting that night because I am hosting something for Advent at church. Didn't know about this meeting until after I committed myself to something else. But I do know of others who are attending, and I when I get notes from them, I will surely pass them on! Our CF doctor also serves on our CFF board (as do I) as a medical advisor, and we have a meeting on Nov 16, and I am hoping that he will attend and share some information with us at that meeting as well! He is good at showing up for the meetings in the off chance that he can get away. Sometimes he spends half the meeting on the phone because his beeper is constantly going But he always tries to enlighten the board (since most board members do not have a real connection to CF besides just serving out of the kindness of their hearts) to help motivate them and let them know what is going on in research and the medical field of CF.

Usually, a dedicated doctor will make an appearance at such Confrences. My sister is in another part of the medical field, and she either goes, or is even sent by the hospital for better PR with the patients, as well as staying up on things!

It's a great effort for those doctors who travel half-way across the states to go, however!

If I end up back in the states in the future, my current place of residency will be south of Denver!
