Cleaning out nebulizer cups

Is boiling for 5-10 minutes enough? I grew up in Indonesia, and we had to boil all of our drinking water. I was taught it had to come to a full boil and stay that way for 20 minutes to kill everything. Because of that, I always boil my neb parts for a full 20 minutes. Maybe overkill?

I didn't have time to read all 540 replies but my clinic said that the baby sterilizer Avent Q something (the $90 one) was just approved for sterilizing nebulizer cups. I keep it on the counter all the time now - it has a 6 hour and 24 hour sterilizing cycle. I think it's perfect!

Ok, I am the crazy one that every time this post comes up by someone I write what I do because I get so scared that I am doing it wrong.

Here we go

At night, I dump my Eflow into the dishwasher. Been doing that for two years now. Every single night.

In the morning after I use it I rinse it and leave it alone until my afternoon treatment, which then I rinse it again with regular tap water. Then at night same routine, dump it in the dishwasher with all the other dishes. Been doing this for two years. hasn't gotten warped.

well, it's not sanitary to rise with tap water and not sterilize in between treatments.

i'd encourage you to maybe get more eFlow parts so you have enough to last you through the day.

you work to hard keeping your lungs healthy to not be sanitary in between treatments <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
