My son was in this trial and yes the 3 times a day treatments was a big pain in the *ss, on top of everything else, but I can tell a difference in his breathing (for the worse)since he has not been on it. Unfortunately he can not be in the new trial because they are not taking from the same pool of people. I dont care that the treatments took up so much time, I wish he could still be on it. I hope that when all is said and done they will determine that you only need to take once or twice a day and yes I have heard that this could replace H.S. as a treatment as well.

Amy, when I started the trial I had to discontinue HTS, but I suspect that might have had something to do with the double-blind nature of the study. I think the "placebo" is HTS or similar. That's just my speculation though and has no basis in any research whatsoever. Personally I'm glad because I wasn't looking forward to doing Denufosol in addition to HTS.

Question: When Denufosol is finally released does it HAVE to be done 3 times a day? I know thats what it is but will it not have the same effect if only taken 2 x a day?

Right, well if you think of the MAO of Denufosol and HTS, they're similiar but Denufosol is much more effective. So it would be kinda redundant to do both.

It's going to be an amazing med, whether BiD or TID.

i bet most will do it BID, to be honest, but if it's really good and prevents us from going to the hospital like an extra time a year i bet many of us would force ourselves to find time for 3 times a day....
