brad, i have often wondered if everyone on these forums who had cf was bothered by the "cfer" tag. personally i don't like it but i can't put my finger on what bothers me about it. you don't hear people refer to a cancer sufferer a "cancerer" do you.</end quote></div>

i have CF. so I'm a CF-er. Or I have CF.

People who have asthma are called asthmatic.

AIDS people have AIDS.

People who have Cancer have Cancer.

So to answer you wonder, no, I'm not bothered by the CFer tag. I have a disease like many other people have diseases.

Instead of spending so much time being so sensitive about commercials and labels, people should spend their time exercising, doing treatments and researching how to improve their condition.

Sue, I saw that one too and it made me mad. I saw another commercial that said something like "When you cough, EVERYONE around you suffers" and I swore out loud at the TV. I called the commercial a "relative-fornicator" and my friend was like "What did I do?!?!" He thought I was yelling at him. Hahahaha.

And as for the main question... doesn't bother me. No CF commercials here, I'd love to see some, even if they were dramatic. I'm with Kylie, I'd rather people get the bad part and then ask questions, then see someone cough a little and go "Oh, it's just like asthma, right?" I've had people say that before. "Oh I have asthma, I know how you feel" and I always want to punch them just a little bit.

Not sure if anyone has seen these commercials, but these are the ones broadcasted in Canada. I will admit, they do get the point across, but sometimes they are hard to watch. Especially when you have the disease that's showcased.

I really liked those PSAs. I must be a sick person. They're heartbreakingly honest. Then again, the sight of someone bent over a counter, short of breath, is not particularly foreign to me. I think they're brilliant in getting the point across. Much better than anything I've seen in the states about CF. *shrug*

I felt like it was me watching the woman do the laundry. I do have to admit the deflating thing is a bit creepy, but they definitely get PART of the problem across!
