Do you think Dr's should be at their patients funerals?

I think the dr should be there. I feel comfortable emailing my doctor, so I would be hurt if he didn't pay his respects.

If a good doctor/patient relationship involves teamwork, which it should, then the passing of one of the "teammates" requires acknowledgement. If Andrew's doctor died unexpectedly, we would attend the funeral...or at least the visitation, both in tribute to the working relationship we had, as well as to pay our respects to the family.

I would like my Dr to come but I wouldn't expect it. he is a busy man and like Lisa V said I am sure attending all those funerals would get to him. I also would not expect him to be by my side when I passed unless I was in the hospital. Even then I wouldn't expect him there when it happened but I know he would check on my all the time just like he does now.
