e-flow

I know not many of you use the e-flow yet; but, I thought I would post this question anyway. I have had problems when I put the medication in the med cup. Sometimes without warning the medication just goes into the cup and disappears down into the system. No matter how good I clean it or how carefully I put the system together. I even got a replacement and thought I solved the problem but it happened again today. This is a big deal cause it wastes the medication. What on earth am I doing wrong. I clean it, I carefully assemble it, I test it. There is no telling when this is going to happen. It is getting on my last nerve to wonder if when I put the med in the cup if it is going to stay in the cup. Help all you e-flow users. I think the company thinks I am crazy. The tretment ends within about 10 seconds, far short of the necessary time, and then when you open the e-flow the rest of the med runs out from where the head meets the aerosol chamber. Help!

I had the same problem and it made me sooo mad! Do you boil your eflow? If you are boiling it for more than 5 minutes I believe something begins to melt and causes this. I had to get a new one as well. I stopped boiling mine on the stove for more than 5 min. I usually put it in the dishwasher now and I haven't had a problem since.

You need to call the company and probably get it replaced. Once it is replaced, be careful about how long you boil it or just put it in the dishwasher.

I am sooo glad to hear someone else has had this problem. I was beginning to think I was crazy<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I do not boil it at all. I use the control solution that was given to me. Maybe I leave it in the control solution too long. Whatever has happened, this is probably a problem they are going to have to figure out as I bet we are not the only ones this has happened to.

Yes it has also happened to me. I dont really notice much about when it happens, but it doesnt happen to me very often. I think it has something to do with how long before you make it. I remember one of the times it happened to me, was when it didnt exactly get used right after I mixed it. By this I mean, I made the solution, then assmbled the eflow to use. I think if I had assembled it first, I wouldnt have had that problem. If the med sits too long, then it gets sticky and you are supposed to use it right after you mix it.

Thats all that I can think of, let me know if you figure anything else out. Good luck!
