Family germ exposure issues

Unbelievable. Stupid people should be arrested.. that's my thought for the day. They should really get informed before making such stupid statements. Obviously there is nothing you can do about other people's stupidity, but I would let them know what the doctor said, even if it doesn't change their opinions. Grrrr....

I completely understand her wanting to protect her child, but the truth is, they are a bigger threat to Becca than she is to their child. Especially since they have just been in a germy hospital.

Can you get her to consult with your clinic, and let them educate her? If not, then it's out of your control. It's just wrong for your entire family to choose to cut you and Becca out of the celebration because of their ignorance.

I am really sorry this is happening, and I hope you can work through it with your sister for everyone's sake.

If you parents are in agreement I'd do just as Michelle suggests. Only be sure to verbalize it to your folks. Let them know, OK, you agree to stay away this time, but just remember when the shoe is on the other foot and her kids have "allergies" running down their face at Easter, the 4th of July, family reunion or whatever event there might be, that they will need to back you up when you ask that she keep away to protect Becca from catching anything. After all, you work very hard at keeping her healthy and their "little" bug could wind up putting Becca in the hospital for two weeks!
