Family history of CF

We have no family history either within our known relatives. Everyone we could think of was strong as an ox--no CF or symptoms.

my family doesn't have a known history either, although there was a set of twins that i'm not really sure how they were related but one died as an infant of pnumonia and the other died at about 40 but everyone assumed she smoked herself to death because she took it up and about 3 years later she died, she always said she didn't smoke very much but because of the lung problems no one believed her, so who knows?

I am the only one in my family as well. I have heard of early deaths with infants on both grandmother's side. Not sure why they passed. I believe it was pneumonia. I have never really searched my family tree because I'm not good at reseach type stuff. I get fustrated very easily. Anyway, I have a huge extended family but I am the only known CFer...which is fine.

I have never known any other family members to have CF. I did find out that my paternal grandmother had twin brothers that died one day after birth. How they died I have not found out yet, but am looking into it. My maternal grandmother had a younger sister die at the age of two from asthma!!!!!! Bowel and stomach issues run in the family on both my mother and fathers side. My mothers side has IBS with the gotta go's, my dads side has IBS that can never go. I got the never go. Childhood bronchitis is rampant on both sides. Honestly, both of my parents could be carriers and I just got lucky. Other than that, I don't know much else.

I have 3 sisters (2 by my moms second marriage, 1 by my dads second marriage) also an ex brother in law (Jaelyns dads little brother). All 4 of them are in their twenties and are not necessarily trying to have kids but def at an age where it could happen. I always think if one of them will ever have a CF child like me. If they knew, would they still do it. But so far, none of my sisters or bros have been tested to see if they are carriers. It scares me sometimes for them. For their unborn children I already worry!
