Getting a new vest

I also have one of the old ones that weighs a ton. I'm now on my husband's insurance, so I'm hoping they will approved it. My old insurance denied it because 1) I hadn't been hospitalized or on IV's in the past 12 months and 2) I already have one.

So, just wondering, did your insurance pay for a vest upgrade? I've had my vest probably since 2000 or 2001.

mine did twice.

once to a smaller vest, and a 2nd time for a better vest <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Was there something particular you submitted to the insurance to get them to pay (like a letter from your doc)? The reason why I ask is that my CF doc didn't prescribe a new vest for me because he assumed my insurance wouldn't pay. Maybe he'd already tried with that insurance...

I got my original giant vest when I held the insurance while working & then my newer one was under my husbands insurance!

I have pretty good insurance, but dont know what would happen if I asked for yet another vest (different brand or the newest version of what I have) under my husbands insurance.
