I apparently cultured MRSA in July but it hasn't shown up again since. The only way I found this out was when I had sinus surgery, the hospital told me that they had to take contact precautions because I cultured MRSA. My CF doctor did not even know! I'm guessing it showed up late to the party (after the typical amount of time it takes my other bugs to grow).

I don't know if this helps, but remember that every person is different. Some people culture it for years and never have had a flareup. I know it's scary, but it just means that you need to be vigilant about getting culture results. Ask for them every time.

just want to echo that this affects everyone differently. I have both PA and MRSA. 114 % lung function. Work full time. Live life to the fullest. I don't let it stop me. For what it's worth!
