hand sanitizer question

I used to provide hand sanitizer to the class. I'd buy cute soap dispensers at thrift stores that were kid appropriate and/or seasonal to make it fun and appealing and change them often to keep it interesting. The teacher indicated that there was a noticeable decrease in illness that year! I'd speak with the principal about allowing it for you. There is a medical necessity insofar as your concern is the spread of germs from your non-cfers class to your cfer.

Our 5 year old is in Kindergarten and we sent bottles to school with both her and the 3 year old w/ cf. The teachers were glad to have it. We also sent pamphlets from the cf clinic about cystic fibrosis and kids going to school the teachers responded well asking questions and it went over better than expected but I guess we got lucky and have interested teachers.

I called the school the other day asking to give my daughters class sanitizer. They don't have CF and the lady the answered the phone brushed me off. I told her about my cf child and she relied that the classrooms all have wipes. I hung up and went to the teacher. They know Graycie and know she was a sick lil girl. They loved the idea and they didn't have any problems with taking the germ X. They said it won't hurt to use it. I really didn't give the teacher a choice either. I just gave it to her and told her that i would like to provide the classrooms the sanitizer. We have all had the flu 3 times this winter. We all had the shot and i wipe things done all the time. We just can't shake it. Grayson now sick with ear infection and 1 of my others is sick AGAIN. I am going nuts.

Thanks for all the great information on this topic. I talked to my daughter's teacher for when Morgan will be in kindergarten and she said I could supply hand sanitizer but I have to provide a MSDA sheet and get it approved by the school for use of it, which kinda seems silly to me. But I told her I'd want the entire class using it not just Morgan so we'll have to see what happens when the time comes.
