I just wanted to share that the nurse at my CF clinic said that the e-flow was good for some nebs but not TOBI because it is thicker. She wants us to wait for more studies to show that the medications are still as effective because the e-flow could change the composition of the medicine and they don't have a lot of studies to show how that might affect it.

I'm really looking forward to the powder version of TOBI. That could really decrease TOBI time.

They are not new, been members since Feb of 05, so they should know how to do a search for eflow as many have posted about them, but i don't blame them for not reading Amy's blog, I surely would not, she is the most negative know it all and condesending person I think I have ever come across. One of those people that always has an opinion but not sure why</end quote></div>

So if I got the new eflow, I would not be able to use it for Tobi? I would still have to use my old machine? My doctor tells me none of this so I was wondering if this was true.

you can def use it with TOBI.

there is so much mis information about the eflow it's rediculous. just cuz your nurse/doctor says something, doesn't mean it's accurate.

call PARI or the vendor for the eflow. they will give you the most up to date information.

the Euroean brochure for the eFlow states that TOBI and pulmozyme can both be used with the eFlow...

I would just be wary and ask what kind of studies they have to show that TOBI is still as effective as it is with other nebs. My CF nurse said that the reps said you could use TOBI but she felt that because TOBI was so thick the e-flow could change it's composition and affect how it works. She just wants us to wait for data to back up claims that the e-flow is OK with TOBI.
