I am positive JennifersHope had a med that required her to be hooked up for ungodly amounts of time. Maybe PM her in case she doesnt see this thread.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Abx is a abbreviation we use here for "antibiotics" and can refer to any antibiotic: penecillin, fortaz, gentamycin, cipro, colistin, etc etc.

If you are asking what bacteria antibiotic treat... well certain ones are good for certain infections. Different ones may be used for Pseudomonas or Staph or Cepacia, and a lot also depends on what your sputum cultures show.

To Samantha... yikes, I've never heard of 22 hour antibiotics! Feel better soon, don't worry too much about the midline... like people said it's no worse than a PICC. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

yes my 4 year old and I both have CF. I know they are putting me on Tobra in an isometric ball to run over 30 minutes and the 22 hour med is cefta....something
