How Much Sleep Do You Need?

I try to get at least an 8 hour night, but lately it has been tough. Either because of work, or waking up from coughing in the middle of the night!
At least the "little queen" can get some sleep later, and the Big A** Queen (MIL) is hard of hearing, so I don't care about her!
I had been thinking of this question today. I think if I got a good 10 hour sleep, I wouldn't feel like I'm dragging at work all day.
Though, I seem to recall that I had taken about a 15 minute "cat nap" during my lunch break, and sometimes felt better.
Lately, I've dozed off on the train in the am, and even on the way home, which is an extra 15 minutes in the am and pm...but not very restful!
However, today seems to be an unusual day for me, I feel sore in the knees and thighs, and feel like I'm "glowing" from a slight fever! sometimes a stomach ache causes that, but not lately.

Wow, Jade! If I went on 4-5 hours of sleep per night, I'd be sick and in the hospital in less than 1 week!!!

I need about 8-9 hours of sleep per night. Seven hours is enough if I'm not sick or anything (can't make it a habit, though).

Women: I don't know if you are this way, but when it's almost my time of the month or is, I do need about a 2-hour-nap here-and-there. I might nap only 3-4 days a month for that reason only. Otherwise, I don't nap. The 8-9 hours of sleep are enough!<img src="i/expressions/sun.gif" border="0">

Just to add that about 10-15 years ago when I was with my first husband I would sleep until 11am or longer on my days off. I felt no better then I do now considering. The difference I guess is that I worked during the weekdays so didnt have a choice of when to catch up on sleep as needed. I cant sleep past 7:30 am now. Even on the weekends I am usually the first one up........

8-9 hours. If i get less i really notice it...it also depends on how busy and worn out i feel as well.

I agree with NightLife though my mornings are reaaaaaally slow and i always feel like crap, and i pick up in the early aft

I do well with 7-8 hours.
When I have a flare up then I need more like 10 hours at night plus one afternoon nap.

At least 9. I like my afternoon nap, but only get to take one every now and then!! I have other problems besides my cf, 2 mitochondrial mutations. They cause muscle weakness and spasms, so I'm not a very active person...and when I am watch out cause I get tired and grumpy!!
