I walk as fast as i can (usually between 5.2 and 6.0 km/per hour) on the steepest incline on my treadmill everyday for 20 minutes. I also walk fast every lunch time for about 10-15 minutes (most people have to run to keep up with my walk, i have long legs ) and in high heels as i wear them every day. I also occasionally play indoor netball once a week depending on time availability. No oxygen needed for any of this exercise(yet).

Treadmill about 4 times a week - at least 30 minutes. I usually walk about a mile and a half. Sometimes I get to two miles.

After treadmill, I lift weights! Wooo! I love it. I didn't think it could be so fun. I can do 40 on the pull downs, and I can bench press 60. At home I have 3 lb weights that I lift. Sometimes I do leg lifts too.

Tonight I walked and ran outside after the treadmill. I like to run a little outside, so I can stop and cough easily if I need to. Running is hard, but I'm slowly building up to a few little running spurts here and there.

A couple of times a week I do the games on the Wii Fit. I try to weigh myself and stuff on there everyday, but don't always get around to it.

No O2, but sometimes I think it would be nice!

I hope I get some ideas on what everyone else does for exercise!

Can I add to this question?

I don't exactly belong here because I have bronchiectasis, not CF. But some of my treatment seems to be similar to that of people with CF so I lurk and learn here. I post regularly on the bronchiectasis r'us forum, and I often link people over there to threads that I read here. We have quite a few people growing fungi, MRSA, PA...etc.

Anyway, my question is at what point do you pull back from your exercise routine? When you are running a temp? Some other marker? And at what point do you start it up again?

Thanks.

Depending on what event or race I have coming up, I usually run 6 days a week. The runs can range from 2 miles to 12.5 miles. Like my latest training for the half marathon I was running 20-35 miles a week..that's still hard for me to believe. If I'm training for my big bike ride I will run in the a.m. then bike 25+ miles at night (4 days a week). Every M,W&F I do core training and strength training.

Two years ago I was lucky if I was walking a mile on the treadmill. Anything is possible and exercise is as important as any CF med to me now!
