i have goten this lecture from my doctor. no matter how much you "think" it okays. its not. with all the drugs we all take for this stupid disease (yes i truley HATE it) its already hard on our livers and kidneys. so drinkin is EXTREAMLEY bad. alcohol is very destructive for your organs. with all the problems CFers already face, why add onto it by drinking.

Drinking surpresses your cough. Therefore your giving the infection more time to sit in your lungs and breed. An occasional drink is fine...(permitting your 21) but college life style drinking will only hurt you in the long run, and develop bad drinking habits. Speaking from experience you can't do the ol' up till 2am college bit every weekend thing your FEV1 taking a hit. Its totally our culture these days to go and get smashed any time something good or bad happens or you have a free night. Let those people mess up there life, for the most part alcohol breeds havoc in your relationships (just look around you if you don't believe me). Be responsible. Our lives are shorter, don't you want to remember it! lol. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

If you have good liver function, you can drink. If it dips a little, then stop, ask the doctor, THEY WONT BE MAD AT YOU, if your parents are there, ask them to leave the room for a little, if they ask why, make something up, but no, drinking doesnt do anything, dont drink everyday and make sure it doesnt hurt your liver
