thanks, everyone!
i always just dose based on carb counting for what i'm eating.... i dont' check at all to see what it was before the food. and, even when i dose for what i'm eating, i often take a lot less insulin than the 15 for 1 unit since i often bottom out when i do that. the docs think my panreace is secreting some insulin, though "sluggish", so i'm maybe more of a borderline case. also, if i'm working out regularly, i can usually control it more with much less insulin.
either way, i checked my meter with the control solution last night and it was right on! so, i guess i do get bragging rights (LOL)... and yeah, mel, i totally agree we ARE some tough cookies!!! i think it odd that something that effects us (low blood sugar, low O2 sats, etc.) maybe go a little more unnoticed cause our bodies are used to just being a little "off". not saying that's a good thing, but it should at the very least give us a gold star. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
