I've been very curious about this movie. Did it hit theatres, or was it just on DVD? I'd be very skeptical, myself, and am not surprised this has mixed reviews from all of you. I am nocf, but do have spina bifida, which is a very attention-demanding disability at times. It usually affects the legs and often the mental faculties, which are both assumed. But also the GI and bladder systems, which is not well-known at all, plus various social issues which may or may not be directly related.
Long post shortened, I doubt there is much of a chance of covering a medical condition like CF (or SB, for that matter) without either simpifying it too much for the sake of a plot, or putting all the details in (CPAP, meds, surgical masks on wards, weight-maintenance, TX issues, etc.) and thus turning it into a documentary.
I want to see this movie badly, but I also reckon I'll be disappointed. These things usually turn out that way.
