Jack and Jill vs the world

I've been very curious about this movie. Did it hit theatres, or was it just on DVD? I'd be very skeptical, myself, and am not surprised this has mixed reviews from all of you. I am nocf, but do have spina bifida, which is a very attention-demanding disability at times. It usually affects the legs and often the mental faculties, which are both assumed. But also the GI and bladder systems, which is not well-known at all, plus various social issues which may or may not be directly related.

Long post shortened, I doubt there is much of a chance of covering a medical condition like CF (or SB, for that matter) without either simpifying it too much for the sake of a plot, or putting all the details in (CPAP, meds, surgical masks on wards, weight-maintenance, TX issues, etc.) and thus turning it into a documentary.

I want to see this movie badly, but I also reckon I'll be disappointed. These things usually turn out that way.

i just watched it tonight... i picked it up at the store not knowing it had anything to do with CF... I was so pleasantly surprised!
I really liked the movie and it didnt bother me that some aspects of it weren't completely accurate.
It got me so excited and motivated to be less serious with life, and have some more fun!!
The woman who played Jill had a fantastic CF cough, says my best friend, and I have to agree with her. Before she revealed she had CF both my friend and I commented about how she sounded like a smoker! Which is funny because I always get asked if I'm a smoker.

Overall I really loved this movie and its message!!

my friend was nice enough to get me an advance copy on DVD.
it was pretty sappy & chick-flicky.
I liked the fact that they TRIED to use CF - but it was sooooo not a realistic portrayal (I thought).
She never eat enzymes, never does breathing treatments or vest.
you just see pills in her suitcase.
Plus I think she coughs a total of 3 three times in the whole film.
If it was intended to be a 'CF movie' - it was extremely disappointing.
But if was just intended as a chick-flick that just so happens to mention CF - then it's cool.
I appreciate the fact that they attempted to bring awareness to CF - but I would be absolutely shocked if the writer of the film knew someone with CF cuz they treated it so lightly.
But rent it when it comes - I won't ruin it for you but it has a happy ending <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
