Jack and Jill vs the world

I agree with sevenstars.
Awful film. Just for it's uber cheesy, bad acting in the first instance, a lot of lines just had me feeling a bit sick. Cheesy, overused premise, though i'll admit it was good that CF was being protrayed. I also thought the actress was just plain annoying. If there wasn't the CF element in it i would have switched off within the first 15mins...and it was painful to carry on watching as it was.
The writer did not do the CF community any credit though. Woefully inaccurate portrayal. I gather she had two IV admissions in a year was it? This is not someone who is mild then and only needs to take a few pills (which you never see her take). I have good CF - i do loads of nebs and many pills to be preventative. Perhaps if she had taken nebs and looked after herself she wouldn't have needed those IVs in the first place.
Hiding the CF like she was ashamed of it was disheartening - why not portray someone who embraces it and still has a positive attitude?
Many other things i could say but that's enough.

SPOILERS IN THIS!

I doubt any film dealing with disease is accurate unless it is a documentary. I doubt every person who deals with HIV first or second hand that saw Philadelphia thought, wow, Tom Hanks totally accurately portrayed what it's like to have AIDS and to go through it. I don't think a fictional film with illness as part of the plot line has the responsibility of completely accurately portraying any disease.

Regarding this film though, I literally just turned it off. I got to the part where the character Jill is crying on her friend's couch and then Jack's coworker says he's an ***** for breaking up with her because she is sick. It made me laugh for a second when he said he's not Florence Nightingale and then I thought about how closely that situation mirrors my own life, and I thought, man, I like to watch movies to be entertained not to remind me how much my lungs suck and that my first love dumped me because I was sick.

rotandroll, I agree. I soldiered through it cuz I was curious how this crazy film was gonna end.
I still don't get what the 'stupid' stickers where all about & why did Freddy Prince smoke? that never really came into play. And the other thing - Jill was the one who said 'be honest' & SHE wasn't. he had the right to get pissed (maybe not dump her but being miffed is allowed).
Any-hoo, yeah, a lame movie to be sure. I guess I'll just have to write my own CF movie. That'll show 'em, yeah! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
