looking young

I look younger than I am, and I guess I am ok with it. It's just who I am. When ever I go into the hospital and meet fellow CF'ers I always thought they looked younger than their age, so I figured it was territory with the disease. Who knows. It's not such a bad thing, although I am 25 and the other day I had someone think I was 15. haha. What happenned to those 10 years?! I am going to use it to my advantage and do one of those age guesser things at this year's state fair! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I'm 27 and I'm always getting asked about school. (I assume they mean college) I usually say "actually I graduated in 2002..."

I get that too, but I really don't care one way or the other. When I was 21 people used to think I was about 16. Now I get anything ranging from 18 to 22 (I'm 26). Think of it this way. It keeps a decent amount of guys from hitting on you since the think you are jail bait (you have a boyfriend I noticed so you don't need that), and the ones who DO hit on you you wouldn't want anyway (pervs! YUCK!). And when you're 40 and everyone thinks your 32 you'll LOVE it!

When Brian and I are out together we do get a lot of looks though. He's 10 years older than me so even though I'm legal people probably think he is robbing the cradle.

I teach 5th grade and I routinely am thought of as a student. I also have had a lot of trouble using my credit card because they assume someone "my age" can't get their own card. I then have to show my ID and they still don't believe me! I would say that I get the young comment at least once a week if not more.

What I don't like is that it happens so much I start to think of myself as young. I sometimes don't speak up because I feel I am too young or won't be taken seriously. And, when I am really down and thinking negatively I think that I will never even live to the age where this will start to be a good thing!

Hmm..I wonder how it is related to CF? For me I thought it was because i was smaller/shorter and have a chubbier face from prednisone but now I am not sure
