Xander is a doll! Thank you for the website! I really appreciated reading his story. I wasn't sure and if you don't mind me asking, did he just get an infection that couldn't be stopped? My son is 3 months and it's so scary to think CF can take such a young life.

It's ok that you asked...in fact we just got his autopsy results back...Xander died from mucous plugging that caused lung failure...he has atypical or so they told us ..but in the end was determined to be a severe form of CF. I never believed even after finding out they were going to put him on the vent that he would die..I took him there for suctioning out some mucous I could hear when his morning treatment. Please be very watchful and listen to your son...I did mine but Xander went so quickly (less than 2 hours)

Remember YOU know your son the best..do not hesitate because you never know...

Thank you for sharing. I had no idea that CF could take a child that quick. My goodness. I can't imagine the shock. I appreciate your story. It reminds me to carefully watch my son. Thank you for sharing. You will continue to be in my prayers.

Another thing about the babies with CF...they can't tell you they can't breathe...you must watch and be mindful...reminds me of that morning...my hubby normally works days but because of it being Thanksgiving he was home. He gave Xander his treatment and said he sounded fine to him and that Xander was just tired. Because I learned to listen and watch I knew he was lethargic and rattling too much...You will learn what is and isn't normal for your child. Unfortunately my hubby has tremendous guilt because he felt Xander was okay and obviously he was not. Please remember Xander when you kiss and hug your children <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
