Most people were told to use applesauce. But if your kid won't eat applesause, just use something else. It's more important to just get them to take them, in my opinion. I say try anything til you find something that works! Good luck!

I've used jelly, ketchup, baby food pears, bananas, chocolate syrup, pancake syrup... According to the literature from the clinic and CFF, you're actually supposed to use something acidic -- fruit and not dairy because the dairy will break down the enzymes faster. But since you're giving enyzmes right away, don't think it's an issue. Whatever you use, you just don't want the enzymes sitting in anything for too long or they'll break down.

Bascially I think it's a matter of slipping the enzymes in quickly and shoving the bottle in their mouths to wash the rest of the enzymes down. Giving newborns enzymes is a bit more tricky than toddlers 'cuz of that weird tongue thing they do <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have a question too.

What is the difference between pancrease MT 10's and Pancrease MT 4's?? and do they have enzymes in a liquid form? Also, if they are eating a small snack, like crackers, is it still really important to get that enzyme in? Thanks!

My toddler has been on them 4 months and it hasnt gotten any easier, he hates them.

MT4s are smaller capsules. The number refers to the strength of enzyme.

I don't worry too much about enzymes if its a few pretzels, crackers -- low fat things. And definately don't give enzymes with candy or fruit, since they're easy to digest -- simple sugars with no fat. And even with fruit snacks I tend not to give enzymes. Don't with fruit juice either. I usually wait to see what DS is eating and if he starts to eat more than expected, I'll pop and enzyme in his mouth.

Do you still use applesauce/fruit to give enzymes or the capsules? We started giving DS whole enzymes when we were out and about and he thought he was a big boy being able to swallow his pills whole.
