First of all good luck <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I bf my son for the 1st 8 months of his life and had to deal with the enzymes. All I can say is that it does get easier. He started taking the beads in applesauce or bananas at 10 days old. It was messy at first, but it got better every time. Eventually he only woke up once in the middle of the night. I would try to feed him around 11 pm so that he would make it to 4 or 5 am. This would make the feeding a bit more tolerable for me. Don't worry about the baby not swallowing the enzymes before you start feeding. I found that I would give him the enzymes and immediately start feeding. I would make sure that my breast was clean after we were done so that I would not have any issues with the medication irritating the skin.

I wish you the best of luck. My son did start sweallowing pills at 11 months old because he hated taking the beads. I hear that it is quite typical for kids to swallow pills earlier.

I'm glad you found something that'll work for you! I just poured the beads into DS's mouth and as he breastfeed he'd swallow the beads (but we started at 3 weeks, and I guess he just got used to it!) Keep up the good work! My DS is 2 and still nurses once a day, so it can be done!
