In an emergency room setting, if a child needs a LIFE saving treatment, we don't need the parents consent to treat them.. Only if it is life saving though..

Even the J Witnnes ppl who don't believe in getting blood products children will get blood. If they are an adult and of sound mind, they decided, if it is a child and it is life saving, the doctor gets to decide or they will get court orders.

I don't believe that a child should be so strongly subjected to their parents beliefs if it interferes with there life</end quote></div>

I belive the cases I'm thinking of from here were where a little girl needed a life saving operation (heart or cancer maybe??) but they couldn't risk the surgery because she wasn't allowed to have blood transfusions - that went to court.

There was another one which involved a baby and a mother and labour but I can't remember the specifics of them.

I don't wanna stir up a lot of trouble here, but maybe instead of judging and condemning parents like this we ought to be trying to help them.

These are two people who were decieved and they paid a high price for it. Rather than calling them idiot and sending them to prison and being filled with hatred, I'd like to bring them to the truth so there can be redemption and remission of sins, instead of only condemnation.

I mean, people call me judgmental and hypocrite all the time simply because I'm a Christian, but look at how a lot of you are responding to this situation.

We can help them and teach them, but that doesn't mean they get away with it. Just like a drunk driver who kills someone. They should get therapy, absolutely. But that doesn't mean they don't <i>also</i> do time for killing someone.

You can redeem them and "show them the light" all you want...AFTER they have been incarcerated, and convicted of negligent homicide. As long as your body is here and alive, you have to abide by the laws of man. When you die, you are free to enjoy whatever reality that exists.
