Night sweats [updated 3/15/08]

Hey guys,

Just a quick update. Had an MRI on my reproductive organs and intestines and nothing showed up. So that's good news.

Still counting down for the mcyo test (5-7 more weeks to go).

I'll be getting my OGTT on Tuesday and hopefully setting up an apt with my Gyn next week as well (had to wait for the referral to go through).

I'll keep you all posted <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

OK guys,

Just an update since many of you have been so kind to ask me (and to hold me accountable too - No Excuses, baby):

1. I had my hormones checked last week and it takes about a week for the results to come. Hopefully I'll hear back any day now

2. Going to have my OGTT on Friday (thought I had the order last week, showed up at Quest, and it turns out the order wasn't valid/clear or whatever. So irritating after fasting. So things are straightened out and I'll be going on Friday!

3. Still waiting to hear on the Myco test - I think I have about 4 weeks to go.

4. Saw the ENT today. He ordered a CT scan. He said my terbinates didn't look too bad, but def some normal CF gunk. I grilled him about not feeling pressure/smelling well/no pain/no fever, but he said I could still be getting night sweats due to bacteria in my sinuses. So possible sinus surgery but I don't think we'll schedule anything until we get the Myco test back because I'm not having any other issues

5. Next on my radar is a sleep test but I need to get through this week with crazy school stuff. One step at a time!!!'

Thanks again for all of you who are asking how I'm doing. I really appreciate it!!!! <3

What would be wrong with your turbinates? Just curious because when I had nasal septum surgery (pre CF diagnosis) mine were large and part of them had to be removed.

I'm glad you are making progress, I know all the tests and waiting is not easy.

oh.... if your nasal turbinates are swollen, the gallen of mucus that your sinuses product every day can't drain properly. this causes a great environment for bacteria to grow. some bacteria can cause night sweats <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
