Here's my advise -

Hang around here on the boards. Come by once a day, read some threads, and just hang out.

After a few weeks, I promise, you'll be naturally more inclined to do meds simply because others are talking about the benefits, talking about new stuff, and you'll also hear about people who are incredibly sick, nearing death, close to Tx.

All of these things will inspire you on their own.

So just hang out, read, get to know us, and really I think the heard mentality thing will really work.

Oh and check out the link for the youtube video I posted in my signature.

It inspires me everyday to work out (something I was 100% non-compliant with just a year ago. Two people on this site kicked my @$$ and got me in gear to work out. And now this video keeps me inspired to have NoExcuses)

Hi Kate and welcome!

It took me years to understand that not doing treatments was making me sicker even if I didn't feel it. Now of course I NEED to do them so I can function.

Since you are not compliant at all I would start small. Don't overwhelm yourself and try to do it all at once or you will stop quickly. Start with nebs and antibiotics if your DR has you on them. Then work your way up to exercise and airway clearance.

How are you health wise? I am not sure what your treatments are supposed to be. And also, do you go to an accredited CF center? This makes a huge difference in care IMO.

One thing I learned was to not try to get healthier for someone else. You need to want to do it for you. I have a nephew and when I was going through a phase my best friend told me to do it for my nephew. Well that lasted about a month then I gave up. So now I try to stay healthy so that I can see him grow up and do things that I want to do.

I think we have all been in a stage similar to yours at some point in our lives. I was the same way as you when I was 21. Well maybe a little younger. By 21 I had gotten a little better but not entirely.

Congratulations on the wedding and I hope that you are able to have babies some day and have all your dreams happen

The one thing that helps me --- a routine. If I have a strict order in which I do things and roughly when I do them, it makes it easier for me to keep going. Not everyone is the same, but for me, routine is awesome.

Furthermore, if you can decide on a particular something to do to keep yourself busy while you do meds and stuff, that's good. Like I spend a lot of time in our chat room when I do my nebs. If you decide that neb time is chat room time, then that helps pass the time. If you make neb time video game time, same idea. Just make sure you have something to do. If you don't, it'll get boring and annoying real fast, and you're a lot more likely to give up again.

Oh and Bittyhorse has a good point. Don't get healthy for your husband (as an example). Do it for YOU, so you can stick around and be with him for a long time. I don't keep healthy for my fiance, I keep healthy for me, so I get as much time with him as possible.
