I won't quote everyone's questions, but I will address what I know and what I do. I only recommend one brand of oregano oil for inhalation beyond steam inhalation (nebing):

H2 Orega, from North American Herb And Spice. They have extensively tested their product with an actual university (Georgetown and a few other researchers) for it's effectiveness and purity.

</a>
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.p-73.com/specialty.htm
">http://www.p-73.com/specialty.htm
</a>
THAT is what I use (H2 Orega) in my hypertonic in the morning, once per day. I do not recommend using the regular P-73 stuff, because it is oil that does not dissolve in liquid. I used that originally, and it was very messy and after some logical concerns due to it being oil, I found the mycelized form (water soluble) and switched to that.

You can get the H2 Orega for around 40 bucks off the net. Google around, you might be able to find it even cheaper. I use 5 drops into my hypertonic, and if you use it once per day @ 5 drops it renders 173 servings. So you would get 173 days of treatment with it, for around 40 bucks.

If you look at the link I originally provided: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.ecopharm.gr/R_c_oil.html

</a>
You will note all the wonderful natural components in oregano oil. Several of which are known to be antimicrobial (especially vs pseudo) and especially anti inflammatory. I feel for the potential reward, it's worth giving it a try for 2-3 months and see how you feel. I happen to be reaping a very large reward for being on it. That may or may not apply to you, but for 40 bucks, regardless if you want to take the substance via nebbing, or sublingually (under the tongue), or add it to drinks and injesting, or even adding some to your regular sinus rinse, I would personally bet that you will find a huge benefit in atleast one of those delivery methods.

If you just want to take regular oregano oil under the tongue for help with inflammation, you could just go buy the cheap stuff at say GNC for 20 bucks and see how that goes. I have used that in the past, and didn't notice much difference in anything.

I have been a living guinea pig for this substance since I registered on this site several years ago. Aside from some concerns with nebbing the regular oil, due to it being oil, I have nothing but great results to report.

Also, since our sinuses are such problems for us, and we can't add some things to our saline nasal rinses that we use, you guys might want to look into the Sinu Orega, from their main page:

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.p-73.com/default.asp
">http://www.p-73.com/default.asp
</a>
Here is the description: "SinuOrega is the very first all natural nasal spray that combine the powers of wild spice oils of oregano, bay leaf, sage, and clove with a natural sea salt base"

I don't have the extra $$ now to look into it, but from what I have read about those particular herbal oils, they do a great job of destroying our known sinus bugs, and help control inflammation. So I would be interested in finding out if you guys have any good results with it.

As far as the other two supplements I am on heavy dose with, that I feel is also largely responsible for my good lung health, and where I get them (I get much of my stuff from vitacost.com), here they are:

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Turmeric-Extract-Curcumin-C3-Complex-with-Bioperine
">http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Tu...omplex-with-Bioperine
</a>
I take 6 capsules with my first meal per day. That is over 3 grams of high grade curcuminoids per day. Remember, the CFF is still investigating turmeric, and the amount needed to try and match the results of properly regulating the CTFR that occured in rats. Even if I have not reached that level, I can tell my overall lung inflammation and body inflammation is WAY down after being on this for a while now. Turmeric has proven to have high gene activity with regards to regulating 300 genes that are responsible for inflammation. It is truly a very strong anti inflammation, and some feel an anti carcinogen. Just google up turmeric research, and you can find vast amounts of studies done on the stuff.

The other high dose supplement I use:

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Deodorized-Garlic-Ultra-18-000
">http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-De...d-Garlic-Ultra-18-000
</a>
I take 4 capsules with my first meal of the day, once per day. I'm sure most of you know of the benefits of garlic, and how it relates to CF. Not long ago new research showed that components in garlic helped to disrupt the communication between pseudo bacteria in the body. It's a strong antioxidant, and helps with the immune system. It is a very wonderful substance. I eat it as often as I can in foods as well. You can also google up garlic research, especially so with it's connection to CF's.

The last high dose supplement I am on:

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Vitamin-K-1
">http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Vitamin-K-1
</a>
Vitamin K-1 plays a large role in the body for many purposes, but the biggest interest to CF's is blood thickening. Lung bleeds plague us, and they certainly plagued me for a long time. The standard dose of vitamin K that you would get from say GNC sources are too low to be of any real benefit for what we need it for. But the product I linked deals in milligrams, not micrograms like most commercial vitamin K offer. There has been research done on much higher levels of vitamin K-1, with no problems, so don't be concerned with the relative high amount. I take one of these capsules with my first meal of the day, once per day.

Since I have been on this regimen, I no longer have bleeding issues. I also do 2 nasal rinses of neilmed saline rinse when I wake up, and before bed, and do my normal neb/vest routine twice a day.

Remember, I turned towards this new philosophy (was a radical change for me at the time) due to desperation. I was in horrible shape, and the best the docs could get me up to was in the low 80% of lung function, after previously being in the 100's. I took a logical approach, and took some risks due to these things previously not used to treat CF. I'm glad I did, because I feel amazing now, and have generally felt great for a long time now (besides those older bad bleeds). Remember to take these supplements (and most supplements) with a meal + your enzymes. We have malabsorption problems as you know, and taking something without enzymes/meal won't help much.

I truly feel, overall, all CF patients should be on oregano oil in some form of application, and a high dose of turmeric, garlic extract, and vitamin K. It's really not that expensive in the long run, when considering how strong the benefits are. I have posted a ton of stuff on here regarding oregano oil, just search and i'm sure you will find stuff.

If anyone has any questions, just ask.

<br />THAT is what I use (H2 Orega) in my hypertonic in the morning, once per day. I do not recommend using the regular P-73 stuff, because it is oil that does not dissolve in liquid. I used that originally, and it was very messy and after some logical concerns due to it being oil, I found the mycelized form (water soluble) and switched to that.
<br />
<br />You can get the H2 Orega for around 40 bucks off the net. Google around, you might be able to find it even cheaper. I use 5 drops into my hypertonic, and if you use it once per day @ 5 drops it renders 173 servings. So you would get 173 days of treatment with it, for around 40 bucks.
<br />
<br />
<br />If you look at the link I originally provided: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.ecopharm.gr/R_c_oil.html
">http://www.ecopharm.gr/R_c_oil.html
</a><br />
<br />You will note all the wonderful natural components in oregano oil.
<br />
<br />
<br />If you just want to take regular oregano oil under the tongue for help with inflammation, you could just go buy the cheap stuff at say GNC for 20 bucks and see how that goes. I have used that in the past, and didn't notice much difference in anything.
<br />
<br />I have been a living guinea pig for this substance since I registered on this site several years ago. Aside from some concerns with nebbing the regular oil, due to it being oil, I have nothing but great results to report.
<br />
<br />
<br />Also, since our sinuses are such problems for us, and we can't add some things to our saline nasal rinses that we use, you guys might want to look into the Sinu Orega, from their main page:
<br />
<br /><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.p-73.com/default.asp
">http://www.p-73.com/default.asp
</a><br />
<br />Here is the description: "SinuOrega is the very first all natural nasal spray that combine the powers of wild spice oils of oregano, bay leaf, sage, and clove with a natural sea salt base"
<br />
<br />I don't have the extra $$ now to look into it, but from what I have read about those particular herbal oils, they do a great job of destroying our known sinus bugs, and help control inflammation. So I would be interested in finding out if you guys have any good results with it.
<br />
<br />
<br />As far as the other two supplements I am on heavy dose with, that I feel is also largely responsible for my good lung health, and where I get them (I get much of my stuff from vitacost.com), here they are:
<br />
<br /><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Turmeric-Extract-Curcumin-C3-Complex-with-Bioperine
">http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Tu...omplex-with-Bioperine
</a><br />
<br />I take 6 capsules with my first meal per day.
<br />
<br />The other high dose supplement I use:
<br />
<br /><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Deodorized-Garlic-Ultra-18-000
">http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-De...d-Garlic-Ultra-18-000
</a><br />
<br />I take 4 capsules with my first meal of the day, once per day.
<br />
<br />The last high dose supplement I am on:
<br />
<br /><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Vitamin-K-1
">http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Vitamin-K-1
</a><br />
<br />Vitamin K-1 plays a large role in the body for many purposes, but the biggest interest to CF's is blood thickening.
<br />
<br />
<br />Since I have been on this regimen, I no longer have bleeding issues. I also do 2 nasal rinses of neilmed saline rinse when I wake up, and before bed, and do my normal neb/vest routine twice a day.
<br />
<br />
<br />Remember, I turned towards this new philosophy (was a radical change for me at the time) due to desperation.
<br />
<br />I truly feel, overall, all CF patients should be on oregano oil in some form of application, and a high dose of turmeric, garlic extract, and vitamin K. It's really not that expensive in the long run, when considering how strong the benefits are. I have posted a ton of stuff on here regarding oregano oil, just search and i'm sure you will find stuff.
<br />
<br />If anyone has any questions, just ask.

Also I thought I should add something. Since I have been on the high dose of turmeric and garlic, I have noticed my mucous that I cough up now is mostly now non-mucoidal, vs before when it was mostly if not all mucoidal. I can definitely tell the difference in my pseudo colonization. And that is a great thing!

Hey Faust<br><br>
How much longer does the oil add to the treatment session? Do you think it runs maybe five minutes longer or so? Not that this is a big deal to me, just curious.
