**raises hand**

My CF dr has frequently called me her chubby cystic! HAHA! I am over weight but still have a hard time absorbing anything. Vitamins, minerals....they go right through me and I just get the fat! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

My CF dr isn't worried about it either; but she did say that if I wanted to loose she wanted me to be smart about it.

I've gradually slimmed down. I've done a lot of research and found that food chemistry and nutrition are the keys for me. Cutting calories never worked. I could never lose more than 5 pounds that way and as soon as I had lost 5 pounds, I would have a feeding frenzy until the weight came back (and usually then some). I did not set out to slim down. I only set out to get healthier. I've also concluded that I wasn't carrying much in the way of fat. Instead, it seems a lot of it was water weight, so I must have been suffering from a form of edema. I'm not skinny and don't want to be, but I've lost a couple of dress sizes or so. And I just generally feel better and have more energy.

Using the same general nutrition and food chemistry approach, my underweight son wcf has beefed up to the point that he was asked if he was in the military. I have had to work a lot harder at than he has because I was so much sicker at the time that we were both finally diagnosed.

I am 5'3" and weight around 118. I feel too heavy. I take enzymes (pancreatic insufficient). I hit 30 years....and watch out!! The food started to stick to my waist and my thighs. I am trying to be careful what I eat and exercise on the days that my joints aren't screaming.

I don't know if it was being pregnant or it was just getting older... I used to be super thin and stuggle to gain any kind of weight. No more potato chips and dip for me. My weight has stabilized since I had my gall bladder removed. Thank goodness!!!

Another chubby one here. I am 5'6'' and weigh 154lbs which is just teetering at healthy/overweight BMI though I would consider myself overweight. I am actively pursuing a 10-14lbs loss.

I am PS but did try taking enzymes in beginning 'just because' they assumed I needed them. I was my thinnest at diagnosis and was so happy to be able to easily loose weight---looking back it was probably because I was burning alot just to 'keep going' as I was fairly run down by time of my dx @21yo.

I do not seem to get unhealthy or run down with loosing weigh but I do it healthfully with healthier options, less processed foods and more excercise. I do not believe the extra weight is good for either my lungs or my high risk of diabetes or the carrying of another pregnancy so I will loose 10 more lbs before TTC again.
