Posers?

Thank you for your responses. I'm glad that I'm not the only one.

A couple of good points that were made:

*what't the worst that can happen, so we typed some stuff to an imposter...

*we don't have to read/respond to threads that we feel are from posers


I didn't start this to be a gripe session on the site, it's just that I have been suspect of some (not all) new users and wondered if I'm alone.

Faking to have CF-- I am baffled. Why would someone do that???

This is place to get support, have friendships and learn tons about dealing with my disease-- that is why I joined this place.

well remember 'Fight Club' where the main character joined all these support groups for conditions he didn't have?

Yes, that was a movie, but I have no doubt there are damaged people out there who find some payoff in that sort of behavior.

The reason I get irritated at imposters is that we as CF'ers have limited time, energy and resources - why "waste" that on someone who isn't genuine? I live my life this way too - if someone seems too full of drama, I don't spend my time there.

I love to offer my experiences and help when I can, but like the drama queen - why waste your breath when they won't listen and will continue in their drama's...

I agree with Lynda. I'm skeptical too and take new posters with a grain of salt until they've spent some time here building their reputation.
