FYI... abortion is not the only way to prevent CF. Getting tested and then adopting instead, that's a good way. Getting tested and then going for IVF and PGD, that works too.

And Lauren said she was in a bad mood. I get the same way when I'm on IVs, I'm sure many of us do. *shrug*

I still find it amazing people will make up stuff like having CF.

Whether you have it, or a child with it (or loved one); this is not a cake-walk. If you don't have it, then don't take advantage of us.

Unfortunately, there are ones who have nothing to do, or are most likely sick in ways that I can't imagine. To them, the attention and responses they can elicit from from us is like a drug and they want to see how much they can get w/o getting caught. They lurk at all kinds of boards, but ones like ours are more popular, since we are the most quick to be supportive.

The worse part is they tend to get 'in' before people realize the conflicts, and once they are discovered, they just move on; leaving behind people hurt and gunshy about welcoming newcomers

Hey! I just wanted to respond because I am a new user and I just want to make sure no one thinks I am a poser and I hope everyone is cautious about not responding to other peoples' topics just because there is a slight chance they are a poser.

I have battled with CF for over 16 years but never looked into finding others who had it because I did not know if I could handle all of the bad stuff I may learn--e.g. people dying too young and dealing with things I have been blessed not to suffer from thus far in my life.

However, I recently had a FEV1 nosedive and it scared me into asking for help. This forum has helped me tremendously in dealing with the emotional aspect of that and I would hate to think that someone else is going through something and we do not respond because we feel the person is a poser.

I have a hard time believing that anyone would decide that coughing until you throw up one hundred times a day, getting hooked up to i.v.s 12 out of 24 hours in one days time, and then sitting on a machine getting vibrated while you throw up some more is just something you would want to be a part of. That is what my day has been looking like for the past two months and it just ain't pretty!

If someone is sick enough to want to be one of us maybe we should just let them--just kidding.
