SSDI...made too much $ in 2007

I did use up all of my 'trial work period' earnings. When I signed up for SSDI I was still working as much as I could in order to make as much as I could...knowing I coulnd't keep that up. So I earned too much for about 6 consecutive months. I'm just nervous.

I have the info from my employer (husband actually) and I guess I'll have to go to that gross office and sit there until I can be seen by an agent to get the rest of my questions answered.

Thanks for your help so far.

Let me preface this by saying that I would get in touch with Julie here on the boards or with Beth Sufian, who specializes in disability laws/rules and CF.

Here's my non-professional take:

I assume you are getting a paycheck weekly, bi-weekly or something?

It is very tricky. They have a SGA amount ($900 a month in 2007) and they have the "Services" amount (640 a month in 2007).

I was working part time when I applied, and continued to work part time after approval of SSDI and then they sent my employer a verification of wages, by month, & they asked how many months per year I made over the "Services" amount. So, I'm not sure where the SGA even plays into this, because that's not the figure they were worried about--they were worried about the "services" amount. I assume every time I went over the $640 a month counted as a Trial Work Period month. If I have 10 or more of these overage months, then I believe I would loose benefits.
Here is a link that may explain this better:

Now, there is hope...I believe you can deduct medical or work related expenses that you paid during these months from the gross amount.
IRWE

It doesn't really address pulmonary expenses on the IRWE chart, but I would assume that anything that I had to do to be able to work is a IRWE expense. That would include antibiotics taken, inhaled or nebulized meds needed so I can breath, possibly diabetic expenses??, enzymes, co-pays for doctor visits, etc.

Again, contact someone that knows more than I do. I hope it all works out with you. I got so tired of trying to stay under that "services" amount that I finally just quit working all together so I didn't have to "sweat it", worrying about going over anymore.
