Forgot to Add: The 30 - 40% success rate is WITHOUT EXTENSIVE SCARRING WITHIN THE TUBE AND UTERINE AREA!!! SADLY, WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO KNOW THE EXACT EXTENT OF DAMAGE. MORE HARM WOULD COME OUT OF THE PROCEDURE THAN GOOD...

We know that with IVF I should have no problem conceiving. It's just that Jake and I aren't too keen on starting with the BIG GUNS WITHOUT EVEN TRUELY KNOWING THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE! We may be wasting our time with IUI, but after 19 months of trying, I don't think that 2 more will really make a difference.

My appendix burst in 2004 and I remember how scared I was that my tubes may have been damaged. Thankfully it appears no damage was done. I feel your pain, I know the feelings.

We started with natural IUI...no drugs and got pg on the first try. That CF cervical mucus can be really tough for the guys to swim through.

Did your burst appendix do any damage to your colon that you know of???

See with me, my appendix burst and was still inside of me for 1 - 1.5 weeks. Not only did it seep poison, but it caused massive damage to my colon, stomach, and liver. I have mild cirrhosis to this day and have to take Ursodiol for it. Also, I have had heartburn and H. Pylori ever since. Thankfully, I haven't had the H. Pylori for nearly 6 years now.

My colon was so badly damaged that doctors (9 months later) had to remove 3 feet of it. No doctor was sure whether or not I would have enough "healthy" colon to live the rest of my life without a bag. When I woke up, the first thing I did was lift the covers to see if a bag was there...Thankfully, there wasn't.

I think if the appendix was the only issue I wouldn't be in this position today. Did you have any colon damage?
