The incourage vest by respirtech has vests for toddlers. Damien had to wait untill his chest was 19 inch around. He got his at 20 months old. I love it. I would print off some info and hand it to my doc without a word, and let him do the talking. Iam sorry to hear he is giving you wrong info on your son being to small. I would let him know thats just not the case. Here is a pic of Damien in his Incourage vest. Dont be alarmed by his expression. It is the simple fact that iI got up to take his picture. He is used to me being at his side while we do vest.<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

Porter got the VEST at 15 or 16 months and he was only 20 lbs. Our clinic had a size small "short." They sent us home with the vest part the day we tried it out at clinic and then they ordered the machine part. It was delivered within 3 days. We have had no problems and I LOVE it!!! Our clinic is very "aggresive" and they gave it to us at the first opportunity. I would PUSH and PUSH! It will change your life. Let me know if I can help.

I've met a couple of parents locally whose children have gotten The Vest at 18 months and I believe they were smaller than DS and most recently an 11 month old who got the Respitech Vest.

Shannon, please dont feel bad about posting,knowledge is key to me, much congrats on your little one getting the vest. i just believe it is so much more effective them me beating on his chest as much as i can. Aidan is really giving me trouble with it these past months and i dont want it to affect his lungs. i just want whats best for his little body and i know their holding me back for some strange reason. thanks again for the posts.
