Unexpected Lock Up

O honey I know how you feel. When I had my last clinic visit. I wasn't feeling "cf" sick. I thought mine was more so related to ebing preggo, and some asthma problem due to moving. SO when I went in and my fev1 went from 68% to 41% EVERYONE freaked out. So I was in for 2 weeks. It sucks but I feel ok now.

Thanks again, everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Things are looking a bit better. I slept for a full 8 hours last night which felt wonderful after not sleeping more than a few hours a night since getting here. Its amazing what a good night's sleep does. I am still using the O2 when laying in bed, which worries me a bit that I'm not acclimatted to the elevation yet, but we'll see. I don't have the nausea anymore, which is AWESOME! I still don't have much of an appetite, but its getting a bit better.

PFTs are scheduled tomorrow, so I'll try to post.

I've also had a lot more "incidents" with the heart monitor I'm wearing, which still causes anxiety. Its going off a lot on its own when I'm just transitioning from sleep to waking, which is also kind of odd. It feels like its beating in my throat. DH has listened when its recording an incident and says it sounds like my heart is just missing a beat every 4-5 beats. odd. So, I'll keep everyone posted. This is causing me more anxiety than the CF at this point (although the lower FEV1 doesn't help... LOL).

Also, I don't actually FEEL any different than when I came in. I maybe even feel a bit worse.... My cough, etc. are all the same and with the added O2 and anxiety and heart issues, its like the hospital itself made things worse... LOL. I know this often happens to us all, but its just crappy that I felt decent coming in and now I feel exhausted and anxious, etc... Oh well. I'll get off my soap box now. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Know I think of you all every day. I hope things are going well with everyone. I don't have much time to read what's been going on with everyone, but hope to get some extra time next week to catch up (or when I get out the following week).

Take care,

Magnesium....magnesium....magnesium!! and in case i forgot to mention it.....MAGNESIUM!!
sorry to hear you are feeling so anxious/nauseous, tobra and merrem used to do exactly the same to me, until i started taking a good magnesium supplement twice a day every day. Now i get through IV's and even oral Cipro no worries at all. In the past Tobra and Cipro expecially, made me so anxious i had to stop taking them.
The thing is, some of the AB's they put us on (Tobra and Cipro are two of them), seriously leech magnesium from our systems and magnesium deficiency mimics the symptoms of anxiety. With me, I presented with, SOB, nausea, appetite loss, racing heart, palpitations, dizziness. My symptoms were so bad they put me in hospital the last time i took Cipro before i started magnesium. I had never suffered from 'anxiety' in my life, until the very first time they starting me on a Tobra IV!! From then on until i built up the magnesium deposits in my system, i suffered from anxiety, made worse every time i took Cipro or Tobra.

Even though if you start taking mag now, you probably won't feel the effects for a few weeks, if you can get through this course of AB's, you should feel a lot better the next time you need to take them.
