If there is any way of getting one just to try it out and see if it is effective for her that's what I would do first. SOme people just don't like it or get more benefit from regular CPT.

I have had my vest for about 2 months now and I love it. I cough up way more stuff that I ever did with other airway clearance meathods. It does take some getting used to but for me has been worth it!

Yeah we told her team after about a month ago she choked on the spit and stuff for the first time and they didnt really bat an eye. Now after Kiana's appt they want to send us to an allergist (becuase Alysa's immuniglobin levels were 10x what they should be showing she is fighting off something) and then probably get a bronchoscope done but her CF appt isnt till next month...

I am really concerned and my GP doesnt know too much about what to do and the only other option is the ER/hospital but they would make us wait forever and probably just send us home...

Her CF centre has one we can borrow for a fwe weeks and there is no way I would go out and fundraise to buy one until I had all my ducks in a row and I knew she would sit down to do it.

I think she would sit for as she has no issue sitting still to do her nebulizer she just holds her port dvd player and watches a movie while she does it.

Again we are still just trying to figure this out and your opinions are very helpful

There is a difference between choking when coughing and coughing until you throw up, though both are significant IMHO, especially if she is only three.

If she sounds "gunky" when she coughs, and has a productive cough, then I would call the clinic and get her in asap (talk to the nurse, not the receptionist/appointment maker). Especially with the cough and the immuniglobin levels being up- they need to figure out what is going on now, not in a month and whenever the allergist can be scheduled (again, IMHO ).

Oh, and can you not put in a video for regular hand pt? I remember watching tv while getting "pounded". It's gonna be difficult at this age, and it will probably be even more difficult now that she knows that if she gives you a hard time, she doesn't have to do it as often (my little sister was the master of that one, lol- I think my daughter may take after her a bit ), but you can do it, because you have to .

Good luck and let us know how she is doing .
