VX-770 and Delta f508

Sorry,
I know this has probably been addressed elsewhere, but I am new, and trying to understand everything. Does the research show that VX-770 alone will help people with the Delta f508 mutation? What about double delta? Also, did I read that it may be out as soon as April 2011?

There is some evidence that the vx770 also may potentiate the df508 gene. If you do a search of this forum you will find some info on it...I know a link was posted to the actual results regarding that.

There's a 48wk ph3 trial on/starting now, so wont be completed until the end of next year.

My two sons are going in tomorrow for the initial start up for vx770, but wont start the actual trial drug/placebo until Dec 21.

We received info that indicated if the ph3 is successful there will be a further trial with all participants using the trial drug for a year or two...that menas that market is still at least three years away <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My kids have the g551d/df508 combination, so there may be some indications there and with other who also have that combination...we'll see what happens <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hi...I don't visit or post much, but I just wanted to respond to this. I have DDf508 and I'm currently enrolled in the Vertex770 trial. I've done nothing differnt in my treatment pland and I'm not on Tobi. There is very encouraging results. This phaseII trial is only 16 weeks, so I'm hoping for better results in my next visit.
I would encourage all CF patients to watch this study closely. I really think this will be a life changing drug
