Your clinic

Thanks for all the GREAT responses... I knew I could count on everyone!

So here's the update.... I figure since it will probably always be a fight to do home IVs, I will just try to get in with the local CF clinic (even though I LOVE my clinic in SLC, it really doesn't help that I'm 7 hours away, ya know? So, I'd be on home health 7 hours from them).... So still working on getting in to see the Cf doc here... Not sure she'll let me do home IVs, but I vaguely remember her saying they do allow that here in Vegas.... Anyone know if that's still the case?

I'll keep everyone posted. I do agree that this is a personal decision and one that has to work best for us, the patient.... If you know you WON'T rest, do therapies, eat well, etc. at home, hospital certainly is the place to be if you're sick. However, if you are usually active around home and can do added therapies, gym time, etc. on your own, I personally think that being home is better. Like I said though, I'm sure its up to doc and patient. I just felt stressed because my clinic was so adamantly saying I wouldn't get their "best" if I didn't do it as they say. So, I just ended up feeling kinda bad that I was asking them something sooooo against their beliefs, even though I know it is what would work for me in the long run. Does that make sense?

Still sick..... I have a weird almost bronchitis sounding cough and when I cough whether I get stuff up or not, it still feels like I have so much more to cough that I can't "reach".

Anyway, feel free to post with any other suggestions or information or ideas you may have. It really is interesting to read what has worked for everyone.

Oh, and I do agree with Diane that no matter how I try, hospital food (even when I order off a menu or kitchen chefs make me something) is not appetizing for me at all. I do tons of food network recipes cooking at home nearly every night, so to go from "gourmet" meals to hospital food (that always seems a bit undercooked or oversteamed or not quite hot enough) its not good for me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
