Why do they overlook adults? Why would the meds only help babies and not adults w/ CF?

I don't know if they are trying to keep our spirts up or what, but they can't even find a cure for the cold yet. So them finding a cure for cancer or CF seems a big farfetched. But I keep trying to get my one friend to go into research for CF so she can find a cure.

I have been hearing about scientists coming close to having a cure for the last 10 years. Does anyone know exactly how close they are and if they will have one in the immediate future?

Isn't it sad that we don't know. CF does not get the attention that cancer and AIDS do.

Julie, how much did everything cost for you to have your child? Isn't the harvesting, freezing and cleaning of the sperm cost the most?

MESA is surgery where they open up the scrotum and take out the sperm in the epidydimus (sp?) because cf men have too much mucus in their scrotum or dont have a vas deferens at all.

Karen, you have a husband who has CF? How many cycles did it take for you to have each of your 2 children? When did he get MESA surgery? How much money did you spend on MESA and IVF?
