alternatives to prednisone

    Hey guys!

I have TERRIBLE asthma symptoms that seem to get worse with age. This year I've already been on two, at least month-long, high courses of prednisone (I start at 60mg). It works wonders for my breathing but after only a week of it, everything else goes in the crapper. I'm...

    vx-770 available in July?

I read this article (or one similar) too and I was under the impression that it said that what they are releasing is treatment for people in critical condition (end stage CF). I assume the "general public" will get a different release date. I may have misinterpreted it, but that would be so...

Can you feel the fluid in your lungs when...

I can feel my lung vibrate (to the touch) when I'm wheezing really badly. Sometimes it's deep, in my lower lobes, other times it's where I think you're describing. Maybe you've got some strong wheezing?

    medicare/basic medicaid

My mother noticed an odd looking mole on my back a few days ago. I've had a few before that came back pre-cancerous. There was nothing that needed to be done about them since the dermatologist removed the mole entirely during the biopsies. I haven't been to the dermatologist in YEARS (it's been...

    living alone and being sick

    Hey all.

I have recently become single with a house all by myself and on my own (my fiance left me...I don't want to get into it). I'm scared to death. I'm currently on SSDI, food stamps, working part time and going through school (though it's summer break right now). I now have yards I...

    Perceptions of CF

I agree with mamascarlett. I don't think it's public enough in the US, positive or negative. I mean, I think back to ER visits at my hospital that has my CF center and I can tell you that 90% of the people that work there only know that "CF patients have to have Dr. Stern paged". They don't even...

    Ideal Climate?

My response is EXACTLY what blake (Lance2020) said. Humidity really does make me feel like I'm suffocating. If it's really hot too, it's even worse. I live in cleveland and last summer was so rough. Anytime I would step outside out of air conditioning I would feel like someone put a pillowcase...
