keeping up with treatments

I agree that it basically just requires routine. It can be annoying and inconvenient but is definitely worth it in the long run.

Have you tried doing nebs in the car? That helps me on particularly busy days. I keep an extra compressor in my car and have to plan ahead to take meds...

    Port irritation

Yes, I always have irritation from the dressing when I'm accessed. Not the best part of IVs, is it? Hope you feel better soon!

Annual health status required by employer

Jeana, I didn't read your post until after reading and replying to your PM. I do have one thought, so will send you another note.

    MRSA

I had a serious conversation with my ID doctor about this once because I'm a teacher and regularly culture MRSA. She told me that while it is technically possible, it's really very unlikely. She felt confident enough of that to tell my employers she thought it was fine for me to be in the...

    MyKidsChart

I've had my health care through Kaiser Permanente for years, and they went to a system like that quite some time ago. It really is great as my doctors are almost always available via e-mail, I can order all of my refills online, and I can view all of my test results as soon as the doctor sees...

Med Side Effects...worse as you age??

It would be surprising to me if they change the meds much as they're pretty regulated. Don't you think it's the same effect as when you take a drug for awhile and suddenly develop an allergy? My doctor told me it's because your body becomes increasingly sensitive to it with repeated use...

    E. Coli

I cultured it once. My doctor wasn't too worried about it, saying it might show up from time to time but was unlikely to colonize. Sure enough, that was several years ago, and I haven't seen it again. BTW, I also cultured my typical PA and MRSA, so they treated me for those with the usual...

    Moving Port

No, I don't think that's okay! Mine wobbles around a bit, but that sounds like a lot of movement. It should be in a "pocket" and stay fairly stable.
